Since 2004, we've brought early childhood expertise to our thoughtfully designed environment within the West Wash Park neighborhood. We want so much to convey the joy we feel creating this wonderful school. Its play-based and language rich philosophy stems from our own beliefs about early childhood education and is inspired by Reggio-Emilia based principles.
While playing, children learn about themselves and their world. A nurturing, stimulating environment where children feel safe to explore and express themselves aids in their social, emotional, and intellectual growth.

How we are keeping our community healthy
Here are some of the key things that we're doing daily. These meticulous hygiene practices include:

Children are taught to keep their hands out of their mouth.

Students and staff practice CDC guidelines on hand-washing.

We utilize non-touch faucets and paper towel dispensers.

We continue to clean & disinfect every toy, book, and surface every day. Our cleaning protocols were in place long before the Covid 19 pandemic.

On-site school tours are limited to Friday after school.

Parents, students and staff adhere to strict illness guidelines.

All staff are certified in CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Medication Administration.
Safe Water: In the summer of 2020 Larks Preschool received notification from Denver Water that they had implemented a 15-year plan to replace many of the aging water lines to Denver residents (you likely received this letter). Here’s how we responded:

Despite testing lead-free every year since opening, Larks utilizes a multi-stage water filtration system.

Larks immediately began working with Denver Water to upgrade our water lines and within weeks the process was complete (prior to the opening of the 2020-21 school year).

As expected, water continues to test lead free from the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE).
