Overview

Camp runs on a weekly (Session) basis. Each week will be filled with theme-based books, art projects and science experiments. We will start our day with open play from 9:00-9:50, break for a quick snack and circle to discuss our themes and get back to exploring from 10:30-11:50. Parent provided lunch will be served at 12:00. Afternoon pick-up at 12:30.

Extended hours are available until 3:00pm.

Themes

Pirates and Princesses
We will combine the imagination of the children with our meticulous research to create and exciting fact-finding, fantasy-supporting adventure. Traveling back in time to the days of castles and great sailing vessels we will try to answer these and other questions:

Were pirate’s bad guys or good guys? How did they navigate? What did their ships look like? What was life like for a princess hundreds of years ago? What did princesses wear? Did they have jobs? How did they take baths? And of course we want to know what did pirates and princesses eat?

Cowboys and Indians
We live in an area with a rich Native American history. The Colorado and Wyoming territories brought forth a new kind of American too: The cowboy.

What were their lives like just a couple of hundred years ago what kinds of myths and fables are woven into our surroundings as intricately as a Navajo rug? Did cowboys wear their boots to bed? Did the Native Americans really live in teepees? How did they all survive these cold Colorado winters?

Dragons and Dinosaurs
Did dragons ever exist? What cultures have dragon myths and why? (And what did dragons eat anyway?)

The mighty dinosaur’s time on our planet has come to an end, but they have left behind some mighty footprints to follow! We will cover some of the well-known dinosaurs (we have to talk about the T-Rex) but will also examine some of the latest findings and fossils. Just when we think that we have the BIGGEST dinosaur to have every roamed Earth, another bigger dinosaur shows up. What was the largest flying reptile? Did dinosaurs have scales? Or feathers? Where did the dinosaurs go could they ever come back?

Summer Enrichment
For three glorious weeks we will celebrate summer with swimsuits, water play and water experiments. We will make popsicles, lemonade (from scratch!) and even homemade ice cream. Parents may reserve specific spots (on a weekly or daily basis) in advance or call when needed for drop-in (based on availability). These weeks are designed to be flexible for parents and tuition is on an hourly basis ($7.50) for the time you are here.
