Larks Preschool cottage c.1890

A Boutique Preschool Unlocking Curiosity

Welcome to Larks

A play based Reggio-inspired preschool for kids age 2.5 to 5

Since 2004, we've brought early childhood expertise to our thoughtfully designed environment. We want so much to convey the joy we feel creating this wonderful school. Its play-based and language rich philosophy stems from our own beliefs about early childhood education and is inspired by Reggio-Emilia based principles.

While playing, children learn about themselves and their world. A nurturing, stimulating environment where children feel safe to explore and express themselves aids in their social, emotional, developmental and intellectual growth.

Our Program

Over time, we’ve designed and adapted our program to maximize learning opportunities while not comprising our commitment to the play-based philosophy that is vital to later academic success.
We provide a loving and supportive environment,  ensuring each child receives what they need to succeed in and out of school.
By partnering with our families we create a community of learners that are also good citizens.

How we're working together to protect our community from the Covid virus

We are taking the COVID-19 pandemic and student safety very seriously. Here are some of the key things that we're doing daily. We engage in excellent hygiene practices which includes:

  • Children are taught to keep hands out of mouth and how to properly wash their hands.

  • We utilize non-touch faucets, soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers.

  • Staff clean and disinfect every surface, every toy, and book every day.

  • We limit adult and parent interactions by having students dropped off and picked up outside of the front gate.

  • Only Larks staff are allowed in the building Monday-Friday.

  • On-site school tours are limited to Friday after school to ensure all surfaces have had a minimum of 48 hours of no-contact.

  • Parents, students and staff adhere to strict illness guidelines.

  • All staff are certified in CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Medication Administration as well as required to wear mask, practice social distancing, and wash hands regularly.

  • Safe Water: In the summer of 2020 Larks Preschool received notification from Denver Water that they had implemented a 15-year plan to replace a majority of the water lines to Denver residents (you likely received this letter). In addition to installing a multi-stage water filtration system for all drinking water we worked with Denver Water to upgrade our water lines. This process was completed prior to the opening of the 20-2021 school year.

"If my children were younger I would put them in Larks Preschool. It is immaculate." Nurse Consultant with 20 years experience monitoring preschools and child care centers.

"To put it simply: Larks is the cleanest school we had ever scene. The choice was easy." S. Flynn, former Larks parent
